Condition
Framed: 48 1/2 x 46 inches.Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined; slightly discolored and unevenly applied varnish along the upper edge, as well as spots of inpainting visible under raking light; very faint horizontal stretcher bar lines extending through the center, only visible under raking light; stable areas of craquelures scattered throughout; one vertical crack to paint along the center left edge; minor areas of overcleaning scattered within the darker passages; pinpoint white paint droplets scattered through lower half. Under UV light: inpainting scattered throughout the sky, as well as in the upper left corner; one spot of inpainting in center of left-most tree trunk; a possible vertical repaired tear with inpainting in lower left corner; inpainting under and around the white horse's jaw and neck; selective cleaning to the varnish visible throughout, primarily in the darker passages.
